Cvent Events, Integrations and Releases: StoneX on Dynamics 365

We integrated Cvent event management with StoneX's Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM. This was part of its move from Salesforce for sales, marketing and service processes. We also supported the flow of application-status updates into the CRM and configured security roles. Releases followed a structured path from development to testing to production, with our support.

About the client

StoneX is a global financial services firm with sales and service teams across regions. It moved its CRM from Salesforce to Microsoft Dynamics 365 to support changing business processes and improve day-to-day workflows. The goal was a CRM that is more flexible and easier to maintain. The transformation also involved external integrations, security controls and a structured deployment approach across development, testing and production.

What we did

  1. 1

Supported the migration of core CRM functions to Dynamics 365, turning business requirements into configuration and customization while preserving essential business processes.

  2. 2

Worked from the business's requirements to customize Sales, Marketing and Service processes. This covered new tables, fields, relationships, forms, views and business rules.

  3. 3

Built Power Automate flows for scheduled processing, record updates, eligibility checks, lead qualification and keeping related records in sync.

  4. 4

Integrated Dynamics 365 with Cvent for event management. It covered event and event-member sync, custom field mapping and registration data. OAuth 2.0 authentication was part of the integration design.

  5. 5

Automated the links between Events, Event Members, Campaigns, Leads and Contacts, including many-to-many relationships.

  6. 6

Added case rules for ticket types and subtypes, conditional required fields, and form sections that show or hide based on an application's status.

  7. 7

Worked on the integration requirements for application-status processing through Azure Functions and Kafka. This supported moving status updates into CRM workflows and associating application records with cases.

  8. 8

Configured security roles and supported role-based access requirements. Supported releases across development, testing and production through managed solutions and Power Platform pipelines.
